Personal Statement
I would be a very good candidate for div II teams. I would say Div I, but I do not have the money, nor the leg strength to be that competitive. In 2013 I dislocated my knee and have been strengthening it ever since. When I play games with a knee brace, I feel like there is nothing wrong with my knee. Beside my knee, I am a very good athlete. On the field I can play almost any position, midfield, defence, and goalie.
What makes me different from other girls is my background. I was born in New Jersey and never played soccer until I moved to Virginia. I started playing on a team in 4th grade in Recreational Soccer. After a few years playing in Rec, I tried out for Loudoun travel in 2013 and made it. I played on coach Art Ulle's team for 2 years then decided to take a break. That Spring of 2013, I dislocated my knee, so now I decided to take a few seasons off and let it heal so I can show coaches my talent in the Spring.
What also makes me different from other girls is the fact that I am very organized and can handle a lot on my plate. While healing my knee and practicing soccer with a few older friends of mine, I am balancing work, cyber patriot club (computer school club), AB calc, AP comp math, dual enrollment English, and other school related classes. At home is even more challenging, because my mom is a single parent, I try to help her around the house. I do all of this and still maintain a GPA of 4.08, I like to believe that I am a multitasker.
