I've thrived off of routine and structure for as long as I can remember. I started really focusing on soccer in sixth grade. It was then that I worked just as hard in my back yard alone as I did with my teammates on the field. I always want to get better, try hard and do more. I've learned that I do my best when I am moving, focused and working. I play club soccer for Strikers U17 ECNL. I transfered to this club three years ago and have started center mid since I joined the team. I love working and growing with my teammates.
My freshman year of high school I decided to try out for the field hockey team to try something different and keep me in shape, even though my dad advised me against it. I didn't realize that High School soccer conditioning would overlap (normally it wouldn't have but with the pandemic schedules were different). Due to Field Hockey I missed almost the whole preseason conditioning for soccer that year. When I went to try out the Varsity team had already been picked before tryouts even started. I made JV and was devastated. Soccer was my favorite sport and I knew I was good enough to make that team. Not only did I get an "I told you so" from my dad but I regretted that Field Hockey decision myself. I went out for JV and gave it my all like I always do. Within 5 days the varsity coach moved me up. I learned a lot that year and grew as a person and a player. My sophomore year I made varsity again and started center mid. Our team went to the 4A regional semi final. We lost that game 1-0 and fell short of the state tournament. This year we plan on making it all the way to the state finals. I'm self-motivated and do what my coaches recommend. I'm not just like this on the field but in all my areas of my life. I am in the Health Science program for my high school and want to go into nursing in college. I have always wanted to play soccer at a collegiate level. My goal is to find a school that fits both my athletic and academic ambitions.
