Personal Statement
Playing soccer at the college level has been a long term goal of mine since I started playing travel soccer in 3rd grade. I had a coach named John Regan who played college soccer and he inspired me to achieve my goal. I did not start off as the strongest player in 3rd grade but he gave me a chance, always stating its not where you start its how you end up. By the end of my years of playing soccer with him I turned into a strong defensive player and played many positions. He wanted me to be well rounded before I focused on one position. During my time with Coach Regan, I played for the VA ODP state team for three years. I was able to play internationally in France with the VA ODP 04 team and compete at the regional level. At the end of my time with Coach Regan, I advanced my play by making ECNL Loudoun 04 team. I have continued to play with them for two years.
I know the meaning of having to work hard. I continue to push myself and work hard every day. I see mistakes I make in games and work hard on my own to fix them and get better. I have to work hard because I started at the bottom and had to work my way up to be where I am at today. I am an athlete that will always go hard and be there. I am focused on doing well in soccer and academically to achieve my goals.
