6 year old Taylor fell in love with this game and almost 16 year old Taylor has never looked back since. Playing at the collegiate level has always been a dream of mine. Whether it be soccer, basketball, or volleyball. It wasn't until recently that I realized soccer was my true calling and something I could definitely see myself playing for 4 more years after having graduated. My main goal would definitely to be to go somewhere with a good medical program. After college I plan to attend either medical or pharmacy school so it is extremely important to me that I find the appropriate program to help guide me in that direction. I am a member of the National Honor Society and am currently on track to be the valedictorian of my class. Aside from academics, I am part of 3 athletic teams at Central high school. I am part of the varsity volleyball team after only having played one year of volleyball prior. I am on the varsity basketball team who has won 3 of 4 state titles in the past 4 years and continues to look promising. I am a starter on the varsity soccer team and received first team all-conference honors my first year as a freshman. The clinch mountain conference is a rigorous conference who excels in its women's sports. Varsity soccer was just recently added at Central and we are looking forward to hopefully claiming a state title before I graduate! I started every game as a freshman, but not where I wanted. I was initially a center back. Most freshmen are put on defense until they prove they are better fit for another position on the field. After 2 games I was moved to mid-field. I was more content at mid-field than I was on defense because I wanted to be out there on the field making plays and winning balls. I knew I wanted to be the striker from day 1 and my coach just looked at me and said, "earn it." After 2 games at mid-field I received my first start at striker. I scored 2 goals that game. 2 days later I started again at striker. I scored 3 goals in one half, my very first hat trick! 3 goals in a game we won 4-3. The next game I started again against our biggest rival yet. They beat us 6-0 at the beginning of the season when I was playing mid-field. We did end up losing the game 3-2 but I scored both goals and was one of the select few girls to score on that team out of the whole conference. I told myself at the beginning of the season I would earn that starting striker spot no matter how hard I had to work. and I did just that. I think that sets me apart from many individuals. I'm willing to put in the work and I know I can always be improving. I wish to be anything but ordinary. I can take the discipline and conditioning if I'm given a chance. I would be so honored to be given the opportunity to play soccer in college and would quickly become part of their soccer family!
