Personal Statement

Eyes closed, focus on the corner, steady my breath, feel the sun on my face, slight breeze calms my nerves, play set in my head...3...2...1.....PK kick placed perfectly in the corner, just as I envisioned it.

There's something to be said about doing what you love.  I feel like I was destined to be on the pitch.  To be surrounded by an amazing group of athletes, coaches and fans.  My love of the game runs deep and it runs long.  I started playing soccer when I was 5 as my parents signed me up for a variety of sports to see what might stick.  I was always the kid all over the field, out of position, aggressive to the ball, wanting to take it away from the offense and zoom past the defender on my way to the goal.  Mostly I wanted to prove that girls can play soccer too!  Tall boy in my way, see ya!  Fast boy catching up to me after I received a great pass from my teammate, no problem!

My dad always tells me, "Be the hardest worker in the room."  I feel like I put this into everything I do.  I played competitive soccer for four years with SGEO Fusion Club. Two seasons ago I chose to look for a more competitive program who‘s playing philosophy aligned closer to my goals. I found that with the Titans FC program.  I have been a member of the  WPL Surf Academy 05 team for the past three seasons.  Surf Academy is a great program that has provided elite training opportunities as well as collegiate showcases.  In 2019 I participated in the Rage College Showcase in Pleasanton CA and the Collegiate Showcase in Dallas TX with the Surf 05 team.  I attended the Las Vegas Cup Showcase tournament this past  December in which our team finished 2nd pace.  All of the travel experiences have provided a great opportunity to play against some great talent, see some great College campuses during our free time and has allowed me to see what it's like to travel as a  team.  I feel like when I transition into a collegiate program I will be better prepared for the challenges student athletes face.

It's important to me to stay active in not only sports but in my personal life.  On top of my busy soccer schedule I can proudly say I played competitive AAU Basketball for five years as well.  I think the two sports compliment each other which has made it easy to transition between the two.  I'm blessed to have coaches that not only understand the importance of being active in more than one sport, but they support my schedule and abilities to do both. Outside of the sports world I have been a member of my schools band and jazz bands for the last three years as well as leadership and WEB Training for incoming underclassmen.  I also take private piano lessons and have been able to participate in the Federated Music Festival the last three years receiving superior rating for each performance.  I wouldn't be as successful as I am without the support of my parents. I have learned how to prioritize, schedule and communicate my attendance and needs to my coaches, teachers and parents and have been able to take on all that's on my plate.  My attendance is stellar and I am a scholar athlete having been able to maintain a 3..9 GPA as well.

I want to be part of a program that celebrates the diversity of it's athletes. The hobbies, the uniqueness of each and everyone of it's members. A program that promotes a true team atmosphere and shapes the whole athlete. I have been told I am a natural leader and I take pride on being looked up to by my teammates and coaches. I love to send inspirational words and quotes to my teammates and pump them up before a game. I love to do more and give more and walk the talk to set the example. I believe if you are on time you are late. I craft my skills outside of practice. I expect my teammates to do the same.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me. I look forward to getting to know you, your program and building a great relationship in the future.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
