I think the thing that makes me stand out the most is my personality and my attitude toward things. I have never had anything come easy for me, but I have not let that stop me from going for what I want. I have always had to work extremely hard to get succeed in anything. I am improving every day by pushing myself and challenging myself to try new things. This year, I moved from a school that did not have the best soccer or academic program and where I was one of the top athletes there, to moving to one where I knew I wouldn't be a top athlete anymore and that I would have to work extremely hard and push myself to be able to start and play. When I came to my new school I had always played somewhere on the defensive line, occasionally outside midfielder for my travel team, but I was challenged to learn a new positon: defensive-mid. I worked everyday on my foot skills and speed with this position and ended up starting and playing this position every game. I have since played many positions for different teams. For my high school team I play defensive mid, for my travel team I play outside back or center back, for my indoor team I play forward or defense, and for my ODP team I play outside-mid or defense. I have always struggled at focusing and learning as fast as others and have to work twice as hard as others to keep my grades up and learn the material, but with long hours of studying and the help of my parents I have been able to push myself and take honors classes and be a top student in my class. I have juggled many sports also over the years and am willing to try new sports. I played Basketball varsity basketball since I was in 7th grade and played AAU, I just recently quit playing basketball this year when I moved schools but I still love the sport very much. I also ran Cross Country for 3 years at my previous school and went to State my Freshman year and almost went to state my sophomore year. I was on the Varsity track team at my previous school and competed in the 4 by 400 and the 4 by 800, I did not do track my sophomore year but I am rejoining it at my new school for my junior year. I recently did swim this past winter for my junior year and I competed in the 50 free, the 100 free and several relays. I also did Softball until I was in 7th grade and made JV as a 7th grader but had to quit because I was playing to many sports and wanted to focus more on my other sports and academics. I also love to volunteer at my church, I am currently getting ready to go to Guatemala over the summer for 10 days and I'm extremely excited to get to build houses and play with the children at the schools. I am hoping to go into the medical field, I would really like to be a physical therapist because I love the aspect of helping someone and especially to get to help someone get back at doing something they love. I have also looked into being a pharmacist, athletic trainer, or maybe even working with animals. I want to go to a college that I will be happy with both the soccer program and the academics that will best fit me. I want to go to a college that I can continue to push myself academically and athletically. I want to be able to get to play and that I will best fit with the campus, team and coaches.
