ABIGAIL LOM CLUB ...Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Abby Lom and I am a Junior at Kimberly High School (class of 2024), where I have started on the Varsity team since freshman year and have excelled academically. I am a smart player who knows a lot about the game and I am always willing to learn more! I have great vision and am always looking for the perfect through ball, as I am a player who loves to give assists. I usually play in the 8 or 10 spot, but I am comfortable playing the 6, as well as the 11 and occasionally the 9. Although I am small height-wise, I am very strong and physical on the ball, and I am not afraid to challenge and knock over opponents much larger than me. I work hard in the weight room and can back squat 210 lbs, bench 125 lbs, and hang clean 140 lbs. I am a leader on the field and I am always there to support, teach, and help my teammates.
For the last two seasons, I have played for SC Wave, which is a 1.5+ hour drive each way that I make about 3-4 times a week. Although this is a massive commitment, I found it necessary in furthering my soccer career and preparing me for college level soccer.
