Personal Statement
Hello. My name is Tessa Czajkowski Higgins. I am here to tell you a little about me. Soccer is my passion. I have loved this sport since the first day I played! I started playing when I was 6 years old on a park and recreation team. I live in the very small town of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Soccer isn't a popular sport here, so my options were limited locally. For several years, I played on a Rush Soccer Club recreational co-ed team in my hometown. Being the only girl on my team with a bunch of boys was intimidating at first, but I found that I fit in well. I believe this has made me a more confident and aggressive player. When I hit the age of 10, I knew soccer was my sport and where I wanted to focus my time and energy. I was invited to try out for the Rush Wisconsin West Soccer Club competitive team in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and I made it. Since then, I have traveled 1 hour and 30 minutes each way, two to three days a week, to receive the best training available. I am constantly looking for ways to improve and be exposed to new and talented coaches and players. I take every opportunity to make myself a better player, including playing on the Wisconsin ODP pool and team, guest playing at any tournament I am asked to join, and playing on the Rush Select team. I will continue to work hard, and would love to speak with you about your program and how I might fit in.
