Personal Statement
I started swimming for the first time in September of 2017 when I tried out for my high school swim team! I immediately fell in love with swimming. I have participated in many sports before, soccer being my number one love until my new sport came along. I ran track, cross country, achieved a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, became level 2 ready in Krav Maga, and yet swimming makes me the happiest, it always has. I feel alive when I am in the water, all my worries disappear. I know I started later than my fellow swimmers, but I am nothing if not a high achiever. I work hard, and with time, support from my parents, which I already have, personal coaching, and lots and lots of practice, there is no doubt in my mind that I can be a fantastic swimmer. I am the hardest worker you will ever know. I do not step away from a challenge. When things get tough it only wants to make me work harder. I'm an extremely devoted athlete and will be in the water, place, at any date and time. School has, and always will come first of course. After all, knowledge is power! Currently, I'm working with my athletic director at school to create a HS swim team. My goal for the end of this year is to have a plan set for the creation of an up and running swim team for next year's school year.
