Personal Statement
I would like to start off by saying Hi! I love to be around my family and friends, they have influenced me to become the person and athlete I am today. I have been swimming since I was five years old. Since I first jumped in the pool, I have aspired to swim at the collegiate level. I know that swimming in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life.
I took some time away from the pool to rearrange my priorities and focus on my academics. In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA.
I swim for Craig Carson, head coach of Brentwood Seawolves. Carson is also my high school head coach. Carson has also helped me become the athlete that I am today. I have an outstanding relationship with Carson and having a good relationship with my coach is important to me because it makes me enjoy the sport 100x more.
My last year of swimming I was chosen to be the team captain and along with that will come responsibilities and leadership. During meets I love to cheer on my teammates. I believe in having an all in 100% attitude. I am very “long” as a swimmer, with great technique. Some of my best moments as a swimmer are with teammates and relays.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and in the pool. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.
