Hi, my name is Esther! I have been swimming since I was 5 years old, and I have loved it since day one.
I am currently attending John Marshall High School in Los Angeles and am part of the varsity swimming team there. I am also part of a competitive swim team, Rose Bowl Aquatics, and have been for the past 5 years. Prior, I swam for JCC Waves in Irvine, where my passion for the sport truly solidified itself. My time being part of a swim team has taught me the value of commitment, hard work, and comradery. I have learned, and grown to love, how to work hard and push myself to reach my goals. The most important thing for me in swimming is understanding that it is a process, that results take time to appear, and that motivation is dwindling; I push myself even when it gets hard to do so. I have clear goals for myself and I have a growth mindset that allows me to keep moving forward.
In college, I want to be a part of a community that pushes me to be my best self, both in the water and in academics. I want to be challenged both physically and intellectually. I want to be surrounded by students and athletes who share a common desire to work hard and reach their full potential. Notably, I plan on studying business, finance, or math-related subjects in university.
