My name is Taylor Hoffman. I am 17 years old and a Senior at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado; where I serve as Captain of the Varsity swim team. Academically, I maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.7.
My best events are the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly and 200 Butterfly. I began swimming competitively at the age of eleven when I joined the ACES Swim Club. I switched over to the Denver Swim Academy (DSA) club team in April 2022 because I believe it better aligns with my goals of working hard and getting stronger. I really enjoy the process of working hard; whether it is in the pool or in the weight room. At the 5A Colorado State High School Swim Championships in February 2023, I received a 2022-2023 Colorado NISCA Girls Swimming All American Award for my participation in the 200 I.M. relay team at the Colorado State High School Championships.
I have competed in the Western Senior Zones Championship meet in California since I was 13. I was also selected to compete on Team Colorado for the 2022 13-14 Age Group Championship Team that competed in California. My goals are to continue to accumulate more Four Corners Sectional time cuts, which illustrates my desire challenge myself by setting ambitious goals and working as hard as I possibly can to attain them.
Swimming has taught me that I have to prioritize my time extremely well because of the two-a-day practices; along with the strength and conditioning sessions in the weight room. I embrace hard work and the challenges of swimming for multiple programs at the same time (DSA and Regis) because I have a strong desire to improve. I am always seeking feedback from coaches so I can maximize my performance and be at my best. As Varsity team captain, I have developed strong leadership skills that build up my teammates and illustrate a team-first attitude.
I hope to be able to go to college where I can continue my swimming career and grow as an athlete, leader and challenge myself academically. I am interested in studying within the field of Business Administration, with an emphasis on Finance, in college.
