I am currently a senior attending Colorado Early Colleges and I swim for Chaparral Highschool, in Parker Colorado. Throughout high school I have maintained a 3.8 weighted gpa and will be graduating high school with my Associates Degree. I am also on my schools student council. I have enjoyed being involved with planning school events and meeting new people as a part of the student council. For the last two years I have worked as a swim instructor and a lifeguard. I work with young kids and I love to share my love of swimming with them. I am very proud when they develop new skills and celebrate with each of my little swimmers. I also remain involved in my church youth group and volunteering with various needs in our small church and hope to one day participate in an international mission trip.
I have been swimming for 9 years. I joined my neighborhood's summer swim team when I turned 8, and at the time I didn't know how to swim, in fact I had been scared of the water my entire life. I joined anyway, and I ended up falling in love with the sport. The first couple years I swam, I was learning how to swim and developing technique. It was a big celebration when I could swim a whole lap! My journey of swimming has not always come easy. In addition to being a late starter, I also had an extended illness that took over a year to get a diagnosis of a food based allergy, and then my beloved coach moved away right before COVID. I have had plenty of times I could have quit, but my love and my perseverance have kept me following my dreams. Even during COVID lockdown when I had no access to a pool or a team, I continued to train virtually with my coach and was ready to go the moment pool doors opened to join a new club team and prepare for my very shortened high school season of 2020. I think my experience has taught me that I really love this sport and it is worth every bit of work to make me the best swimmer I can be. Currently, my favorite events are the 200 IM, 100 Fly, and 100 Backstroke. For my high school team I hold several B league championship times. Following my Sophomore year I was voted in as a team captain of my high school team for the 2021 season. I love being a part of this leadership team, and show pride in our team and our swimmers!
In college I am planning on majoring in Psychology. I love being outdoors, baking, art, traveling, and reading. I love being with my family and friends and connecting/meeting new people. I love all of these things but know that I truly thrive in the water. Swimming is my passion! I have always been a hard worker and am determined to meet my goals. I can’t wait to see what I can accomplish as I continue to grow as a person and as an athlete.
