I am a senior at Glastonbury High School in Connecticut. I was just named team captain of the Swimming & Diving team which competes in the largest class (LL) in the state. During my freshman, sophomore and junior years, I earned All-Conference, All-State, All-Academic Awards (sophomore & junior years) and was named MVP for all three years. I currently hold three high school records in the 100 freestyle (52.54), 200 free and 400 free relays. Junior year, I finished 4th in the 50 freestyle (24.35) and 3rd in the 100 freestyle (52.54) during the Class LL State Championships. Last year, I joined the Cougar Aquatic Team (CAT) and have been a consistent qualifier for Sectionals in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 100 butterfly, 100 back and 200 back. In the spring, I competed at the University of Connecticut in the Connecticut Senior Open Invite. I qualified for the Winter Junior Nationals in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.44. My 200L backstroke time was 2:22.48. My current goals are to continue to improve my times which will hopefully allow me to swim at a competitive college level.
Academically, my grades have consistently improved since freshman year and I am committed to working as hard as possible in the classroom. I will take the SAT and ACT in the fall one more time but as of now my scores are as follows: SAT (math) 590 (Reading) 590 and (Writing) 550. My ACT score is 26. I am currently participating in Special Olympics (swimming) and was selected by my high school's administration to lead the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program for this academic year. Additionally, I have been a Girl Scout in Troop 10845 since kindergarten and have earned my Bronze and Silver Awards. I am also active in my church and volunteer as an altar server and serve meals at a local homeless shelter.
