I have been doing track and field for three years now and am approaching my senior year. I am a pole-vaulter and distance runner. This year I had a new meet PR of 8 ft. a practice PR of 9 ft. I had gotten second place at the Berkshire League Championships with a vault of 8 ft, and had won 23rd place at Class M with a vault of 7'6.
I plan to go to Pole vaulting camps over the summer as well as sign up for a club team. As far as other events I run the 4x800, the 1600 and the 3200. However I have also ran the 800, 200 and 4x400.
Outside of track and field I am a wrestler in the winter as well as year round on a club team, I also run cross country. I am in the FFA, band and student council within the school.
I am in the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, and serve as a petty officer in the program. In my home unit I serve as many roles including as squad leader, the guidon and I am in the color guard as the left rifle.
I am also a junior firefighter for two departments (Winsted, Riverton CT). I am also a member at New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance. On the ambulance I take 2 shifts a week and have multiple fire department trainings a week. I have completed my EMT course and am planning on attending the CT fire academy next spring to be interior certified.
I am looking to study paramedicine in school, while being on a track and field team as a pole-vaulter. Track is a sport that I have developed a great passion for, there is nothing I love more then taking a pole and vaulting for hours. I would attend every practice (mandatory or not) and I would stay as long as I could and just vault. I strive to gain better form so I can clear new heights this upcoming season.
I want to go to a school with a paramedic program or a school that has a program in the area.
