Emily Obertubbesing '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Emi, high school class of 2026. My parents got me into the pool for swimming lessons when I was one year old and I have been swimming ever since. I was in a pre-competitive swim program for several years when I was younger which helped prepare me for the competitive swimming I have now been doing since my freshman year.  I have been on the varsity swim team my freshman, sophomore and junior years at Delmarva Christian High School, and was named the Most Outstanding Player on the swim team in both my sophomore and junior years. I was on the Lake Forest Community Swim Team for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 winter seasons, and on the Lewes Yacht Club Swim Team for the summer 2024 season and will do so again this summer 2025 season. I have qualified for the Delaware State Championship High School Swim Meet in each year of high school (freshman, 2022-2023; sophomore, 2023-2024; and junior, 2024-2025), and I qualified for the Delmarva Swim Association Summer 2024 Championship Meet. Last summer (2024) I taught swim lessons to children in my community and I loved it. I have also been certified as an American Red Cross lifeguard. I will be teaching swim lessons again the summer of 2025. I am a multi-sport athlete in school and have been on the varsity swimming, soccer, field hockey and cross-country teams. I work hard at my studies and I am a member of the National Honor Society. I have been a Community Group Leader in my high school and in January 2024 I took part in an international mission trip to Jamaica. I am a dedicated and committed student athlete, a good teammate and very coachable. I hope to continue swimming in college. The search for the right college fit both academically and athletically is important to me and my parents. The research, searching and visits I have had already have been interesting and exciting. I look forward to my upcoming senior year and making my final decision on where to attend college and to hopefully continue swimming.
