Big South ShowcaseI'm not afraid of hard work, whether it be volleyball training or academics. I travel 2 hours, each way, to practice & train with a higher performing volleyball club plus workout, train & play beach volleyball, all while maintaining top academic results. Summer 2020, during the pandemic, I traveled 2 hours up/back to play indoor volleyball plus practiced and played beach volleyball 5 times/week. My high school has been in-person 5 days week since August, so my volleyball training and travel have meant for some very long days. I finish school at 3:30, hop in the car, and head to travel practice & workout, not returning home until 11:00 at night. Last Summer & Fall, I was playing volleyball 9 times/week, between beach & indoor.
I love being on the volleyball court. When I'm playing, I know nothing of the world outside of the court. My team mates and their families know me as the upbeat player, creating loads of energy and leading the team on the court. My club coach has referred to me as a 'game changer'- a great block or a strong downward kill builds momentum. My dedication to practice and core conditioning shows how much I love to learn and refine my game.
Summer 2019, I started playing beach volleyball with Delaware Sand Sharks in Dewey Beach, DE to strengthen my jumping and ball control (even with the wind off the ocean!). You can find me on the court year round- Fall with high school, winter with East Cost Power club volleyball , and summer position camps and beach play.
I play middle because of where my high school coach needed me, but can also play opposite.
My academics are very strong and I excel in math, breezing through calculus my Junior year. I maintain a high GPA despite all the hours spent on volleyball. This past semester, I also completed a college course in psychology (got an A !) and am a member of the National Honor Society.
