Throughout the course of my swimming career, I have consistently dropped time, however due to the fact that I am young for my grade and should technically be in the grade below what I am currently enrolled in now, I feel I still have a lot left in me despite the fact that my high school and club careers are coming to an end. I am fully dedicated to continuing to drop time in swimming despite my age, hopefully competing at the NCAA Championships sometime in my collegiate career. I am also unique as a swimmer and recruit due to the amount of experience I have had in swimming. I've been swimming competitively for over 11 years, competing for two different high schools (Riverview High School from 9-10 grade, and Venice High School from 11-12 grade). Since I have attended Pine View School, a magnet school, since second grade, I have had the chance to compete for high schools that I am not necessarily enrolled in. I have gained so much from swimming for so long, and I can't imagine my life without it. My training has also helped me by making me an extremely versatile swimmer, because although I may look like a distance swimmer on paper, I have the ability to sprint a solid 200 freestyle and am capable of swimming the 200 and 400 IMs fairly well also. My time in swimming has also taught me to be extremely open to change, I feel I take criticism very well as I am aware it will help my times in the future. Furthermore, not only am I a dedicated athlete, but I am also a dedicated student. My high school is the top ranked school in the state of Florida, and the sixth ranked school in the nation- with me in the top 10% of my current graduating class. Over the course of my high school academic career, I have maintained above a 3.8 GPA and have taken an average of 3-5 AP courses a year. My ability to balance both rigorous academic and athletic schedules has prepared me for my future, and I know I will succeed due to this.
