Cathleen Rabideau '21 Recruiting Profile

My journey as a swimmer has taught me more than anything else in my life. I have not had the experience I would have initially expected, but I would not change the challenges I have faced as a result of anything in the world. Multiple times throughout my swimming career, I have come a second or two short of achieving a higher level or goal. Due to this, I have not been given the opportunity to train and compete at a more competitive level. While this may have hurt my swimming in certain ways, I feel it mainly served to make me so much stronger mentally and physically. I have learned to continue to push myself even when my training may not require it. I have learned to continue to train even when I don't see any physical rewards and to continuously keep my motivation and dedication in the pool no matter the external factors. I whole-heartedly believe that my best years in the pool are still ahead as I still have so much more to give to the sport. Due to this, I am looking for a program that will continue to push me and also support me both in the pool and in the classroom. I am eager to pursue a challenging higher education in the field of biology while staying very competitive and motivated in the pool. I am extremely eager to continue my athletic and academic career at a school that's the best fit for me.
