Swimming has quickly became a core part of my life both in and out of the pool. This coming school year will mark my fourth year swimming for my high school team, as I started in middle school 8th grade, a journey that has taught me resilience, discipline, and the power of growth. In addition to my school swim career, I competed with Cobias Club Swim during my sophomore summer, which challenged me to push myself as a swimmer during the off season and pushed me beyond my comfort zone. The beginning of my junior year I hope to start swimming with Nitros Club Swim in order to push me even more.
I currently attend a magnet high school focused on the medical field, which demands academic excellence. I consistently enroll in AP and honors courses, and I've learned how to balance the demands of rigorous academics with my commitment to competitive swimming. This balance has not only shaped my time management and focus-it's also taught me how to lead by example in both areas.
Outside of the classroom and pool, I've had the unique opportunity to become an ambassador for Triswim, where I get to represent a brand that aligns with my passion for swimming. I also have a presence on social media as the only athlete on my team with a platform, which has allowed me to share my swim journey and connect with other athletes across the country. This platform has helped me develop confidence, communication skills, and a sense of leadership off the pool deck.
More importantly, swimming has had a positive impact on my mental health. It's become a space for me to reset, reflect, and grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. Every time I leave the pool, my goal is to be a better version of myself-stronger, smarter, and more focused than I was the day before.
What sets me apart as a recruit is not just my work ethic or ability in the water, it's my character, drive, and desire to constantly grow. I bring energy, leadership, and determination to every practice and meet, and I'm always looking for ways to support my teammates and improve myself. I believe these qualities, combined with my academic dedication and passion for the sport, make me a strong candidate for any college swim program.
