Shakira Hudson '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Shakira Hudson and I’m a senior at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, Georgia.  I am considering majoring in something, I just do not know yet. I have been swimming competitively for eleven going on twelve years with the City of Atlanta Dolphins, and two going on three years in High school. I always love a new challenge when it comes to competing and pushing myself to swim harder events like the 500 freestyle. My best strokes are backstroke and breastroke. My coach, Tommy Jackson, has always told me that when it comes to preparing for a race, only focus on myself and not the people I'm swimming against. I try to achieve my best time, and if I don’t succeed I tell myself that I am going to swim harder the next time. I love to cheer, support my teammates, and help them reach their goals too! I enjoy school and putting my best foot forward in every class. I am looking forward to attending a college that has my career interests and an amazing swim team!
