Hi I’m Linda Li,
Throughout my life I’ve always been a runner but recently switched to swimming my sophomore year of high school. I experienced many good and bad changes during my sophomore year and picked up swim just for fun. When I started I had never been on a swim team and was not a pretty swimmer but something about the sport made me feel like I should keep going so after high school I joined a club team. I’m proud that I was able to be dedicated even though I was the slowest swimmer I still went to practice everyday of LC season because I wanted to get better before my next high school season. I was always a pretty good student throughout school but I had some downfalls during high school. Even though, they weren’t as good as previous years I’m working hard to improve both academically and athletically while also valuing my mental health. My goal for college is to study a major I enjoy and to live a balanced life. Although I’m fairly new to swimming I’ve always been a hard worker and I’m very open minded to new suggestions or ideas. To me there is much more to just swimming but meeting the most impactful people in my life like my coaches, proving to myself that through hard work I can do so much more than I think, developing amazing friendships, and having unique moments with your team. Overall, I’ve enjoyed the sport and would love to keep swimming.
