Personal Statement

My name is Taylor Weaver and I have been swimming competitively for almost 8 years. I swim year round with Dunlap Dolphins Swim Team and Dunlap High School where I am a Sophomore (Class of 2021). I have always loved the sport and swimming in college is a dream I have had for quite some time.


I currently have an accumulative 4.0 GPA and I hope to carry that with me throughout the rest of high school. I have high expectations in the classroom and I push myself there just as hard as I do in the pool. I learn best by hands on activities and lectures.


My coaches and I would agree that I am an IMer and backstroker. Swimming the IM has helped me not only in the back but in all the strokes. I love hearing feedback after my races and working on what needs to be fixed. In my opinion there is no better feeling than leaving a practice or meet and knowing I gave it my all. Swimming is a major piece of my life and I take it very seriously. I owe all of my success to my teammates, coaches, and hard work.


I am looking for a school that challenges me academically and athletically, and has a good team atmosphere. I am currently hoping to study pre med.
