Personal Statement
I began swimming competitively at the age of ten after observing a club practice. Instantly, I became interested and wanted to join as soon as possible. Now, in high school, the biggest highlight was winning conference as a team my freshman year. This was a long time goal of the senior girls, and seeing the joy on all of my coaches and teammates faces was amazing.
An experience that has helped me grow as an athlete is missing desired cuts by just three hundredths of a second. Missing these cuts taught me to work harder in practice and never give up on my goals. I believe I possess the athletic ability to compete at the college level; as well as a positive attitude, great work-ethic, and flexibility. I am capable of swimming any event my high school coach places me. I absolutely love the sport and look forward to swimming many more years.
I'm looking for a college that will not only challenge me athletically, but academically, as well. My aspirations are to earn a degree in Biology with the intent of continuing on to Veterinary Medicine.
