I've been doing both swimming and diving for South Side High School for two years, my Sophomore and Junior years. Originally, I had started swimming as a joke. I was already working at an indoor pool and thought swimming would be easy. I quickly discovered that it was full of rigorous practices and extremely competitive meets. But nonetheless, I loved it. I love the way the water felt clashing against my skin. I loved the way I felt during my heats and after my events. Then in the middle of my first season, we got a diving coach. I had never done diving before and I wanted to try it. I found that I was better at diving than swimming. I wasn't anywhere near the Olympic level but I could be under the right coach. I didn't compete dive in high school but I did over the summer at Poco Swim Club. My summer coach pushed me to be the best I could be and I loved it. I had found a sport I was good at. I loved how supportive my team was and it inspired me to dive my Junior year. I would love to do both swim and dive for any college.
