I am Micaela Stieber and I have a deep passion and love for the sport of swimming. Not only do I swim for my school's team (Western Boone Jr.-Sr. High School), but for the past eight years I have been commuting 45-50 minutes to Carmel to swim for the Carmel Swim Club. This has taught me great time management. Because of my ability to manage time, I have a (weighted) gpa of 4.2. Carmel's motto is "Courage and Perseverance". This is exactly what they teach and implement into their swimmers. I always find a way around problems and I never take no for an answer. The things that CSC has instilled in me have also led to me becoming a great leader at my school. Often times, I lead school projects and group assignments. My sophomore year, my coach would have me lead meet warmup or take charge when she wasn't there; I was basically the team captain without the official title of team captain. I would also say that during my freshman year of swimming for WEBO, I was a leader there, cheering on teammates through the hardest sets we did at practice and setting a good example for them. Also within the past year, I was nominated by teachers and coaches and selected by my weights teacher, principle, and athletic director to be an Athletic Ambassador.
All of this makes me a distinguished candidate for a collegiate level swimming team.
