Rylee Schmidt '21 Recruiting Profile

Unlike most swimmers, I have not been swimming since I was  seven or eight.  I got my start by watching YouTube videos and going to the pool in the afternoon to try out what I saw.  At about the age of eleven, my parents had me try out the summer rec team. Within the first five minutes of practice,  I knew I was hooked.  I have loved swimming ever since.  

It was not until my freshman year of high school that I actually started competitive swimming. I love having the chance to work hard everyday inside and outside the pool.  As a homeschooler,  I am self-motivated and possess the drive to put forth 110% effort in all  I do.  My passions of classical English literature and swimming have little in common, but I attack them with the same focus, passion, and determination.
