Amelia Garrett '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Amelia! Swimming has been such an important part of my life since I first got in the water. I’ve been with my current club, Tollefson swimming, since age four. I began competing with their team when I turned 8, and I’ve been with them ever since. During the summers, I started competing with Montgomery county swimming league (MCSL) at age six, and this past summer I had a job as a coach doing in-waters with the youngest members of the team. I was honored to make the varsity swim team at Walt Whitman high school starting in my freshman year. Complementing my passion for swimming, I’ve also been a competitive gymnast since age 11, with a club team as well as the varsity team at my high school. For college I’m planning to pursue a STEM-based major, and am leaning towards a career in healthcare or public health. When I’m not in the pool, at the gym, or studying, I really enjoy working on creative art projects and experimenting in the kitchen.
