I have been swimming competitively since I was 10. My parents tell me that I was able to swim prior to learning to walk. I was repeatedly asked to get out of the pool at swim lessons because I refused to keep my head above water. For as long as I can remember, I have aspired to compete at the collegiate level. I am the swimmer that shows up to practice every single day. My coaches describe me as determined, dedicated, and positive. I always try to lead by example, and you will find me encouraging my team members or cheering them on during competition. I am very open to constructive criticism and strive to be one of the hardest working swimmers for any team.
Outside of swimming, academics are a priority. I have maintained a perfect GPA through middle school and high school. I believe that my experience in music, yearbook, and AP classes makes me a well-rounded individual. I have encouraged my band mates to join me in playing our instruments for a local nursing home, in addition to spring clean up to assist with mulch and planting flowers.
I would like to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and in the pool. I am open to all options and wish tofind the right college. That college should push me academically and challenge me competitively. I hope to become a positive influence to all peers and make my parents proud.
