Ever since I started swimming in first grade, I've loved it. I enjoy swimming long distance freestyle events and backstroke. I work very hard in practice and am able to push myself to achieve my goals. I have qualified for the MSHAA State meet every year since ninth grade in 2012. In 9th grade, I placed 8th in the 500 yard free and in 10th grade I placed 6th in the 500 yard free. At the 2014 MSHAA State meet, I was able to reach my goal of earning a silver medal in the 500 yard free. I was also able to lead my relay team to earn a bronze medal in the 400 yard free relay.
This season I have been focused on lengthening out my stroke and perfecting my technique. This year I am working to win a gold medal in an individual event and to help my relay team to place first in the 400 free relay. I am also a member of the 2014 3A Division 2nd Place State Team for Women's Cross Country. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and enjoy pushing myself in the classroom as much as I do in the pool. I am currently the Captain of Quiz Bowl, which took third place at the 2014 Regional competition. Besides swimming and academics, I have volunteered every summer since 8th grade at my church for our local Vacation Bible School.
