Kathryn “Katy” Faulkner '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kathryn Faulkner, but everyone calls me Katy. I am a junior at Francis Howell High School in St. Charles, Missouri. I began swimming at age 6 with the St. Charles County Summer Swim League. After a few years of summer league, I decided to swim year round and swam for the West County YMCA in Chesterfield, Missouri, for a couple of years. I wanted to swim at a more competitive level and in 2021 I joined the Flyers Aquatic Swim Team (FAST). I love swimming for FAST! The coaching staff is amazing and I've made a lot of great friends swimming for them.

As a freshman on my high school swim team, I was in A races and on the A relay team. I also had the fastest 50 free time on the team. It was a great experience to be on the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams at State Championships that year. Last year, my sophomore year, was even more exciting! At GAC Championships (conference champs), I placed 3rd overall in 50 free and 5th overall in 100 free. I had state consideration times in 50 free and 100 free and I was again on the 200 medley and 200 free relay teams that qualified and swam at State. In addition to the relays, I swam the 50 free at State which was such a neat experience as a sophomore. My junior year swim season just ended and it was a fun season! I had state consideration times in 50 free, 100 free, and 200 free. I swam in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and the 400 free relay at State and received an All Conference All Academic Award and 2nd Team All Conference Award. 

Outside of school and swim, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I look forward to swimming in college where I would like to major in biology or a health-related field.
