My name is Jayden Shoemaker and swimming is my passion. Swim season brings me a rush that nothing else can match. It always feels as if each season goes by way too fast, however, I’m always looking forward to next season and the things I will be able to accomplish through hard work.
I fell in love with competitive swimming at the age of 8 and I have continued to push myself through the years. Being from a small town, my high school does not offer swimming, therefore, I made the decision and put forth the dedication to swim for a league 30 miles from home for the 2 months out of the summer. Within those 2 months, I bring in the most 1st place finishes in the league as well as setting many new records at each meet.
I have so much untapped potential and such a high level of dedication to this sport. I will be looking for a college that can help me see my hidden potential and push me to reach it. The competitive yet family-like nature that surrounds myself and my teammates is something I will also be looking for in a college. They may be individual races, but in the end it tallies up to a team effort. Being involved in my high school and community has always been very important to me. As I am a multi-sport, 4.0, student athlete with a job, I have learned to keep a balance and how to be very successful in each. Throughout my future, I intend to stay involved and perform well.
I’m a extremely competitive swimmer who believes that Anything can be accomplished with drive, determination, and dedication.
