Personal Statement

I have been swimming competitively since I was six years old. Swimming and academics have always been very important to me and I look to continue this in my college experience. Most people view swimming as an individual sport, but I have always seen it as a team sport. While it is important to me to achieve my personal goals, it is equally as important to me to help my team reach their goals. For this reason, I look forward to relays as much as my individual events. Another valuable aspect of the school I choose will be the relationship that I have with the coach. I have always prided myself on being a very coachable swimmer. No matter where I end up, I plan on working hard in order to continue improving.
