Sophia Jones '26 Recruiting Profile

I have been running cross-country and track since I was seven years old.  In 2022, after not being able to compete in sports, I decided to try out for the swim team during the winter  of my 8th grade modified season to keep myself active.  I fell in love with swimming quickly and decided to join our club swim team the Delmar Dolfins.  I started the Dolfins season with two goals.  The first was that I was going to improve my mechanics in all my strokes.  My second goal was to improve to the level that I could make it on to my high school's varsity swim team.  I have continued to improve over the year and after having a successful Varsity High School season, I am on my second season Delmar Dolfins with a new set of goals which ultimately will lead to being able to swim at the college level.

I have never been someone to back down from a challenge.  I take pride in being someone who works hard. I continue to be a dual athlete and compete for my high school in both Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, where I was selected this year to run the Varsity 110 hurdles.  Outside of my athletics, I was diagnosed with dyslexia in the fourth grade and have continued to work hard in school to maintain good grades and have been selected to take some honors courses.
