2020 Highlights
2019 HighlightsI have been swimming since I was 7 years old for the Marlins Swim Club, ever since I have made lifelong friends and grew a passion in swimming. Ever since I joined there had been many bumps in the road. Dropping time, multiple coaches in and out, and the team losing many members. Just two years ago the Marlins swim club disbanded and was handed over to the USA team, The Jammin Jellyfish. Since the team switch my times dropped dramatically and I have a stable set of amazing coaches that have inspired me to continue my dream of swimming in college. I have a hard head when it comes to reaching my goals and I would grit my teeth and push past limits to swim for college.
I am known as the joker on my team. Usually smiling and joking through the hard sprint sets to get everyone's mind off of how painful their legs are or how much their shoulders ache. If you ever need to find me at the swim meet, I am either sprinting the 100 butterfly or 200 freestyle or screaming on the side of the deck for my teammates. I have a competitive nature for any sport especially swimming and my coaches know all too well. I am glad to hear the constructive criticism from my coaches after every race and love hearing even tiny things my coaches notice that would drop a millisecond off my next race. If it is a big mistake like my butt sinks in a backstroke I would get a flip flop sailing at my head.
I am not just competitive in the water, in school I maintain a 3.75 or higher. I actively am involved in other school clubs and outside school in my community. I have many community service hours at the local city mission in the form of serving food and helping the kids. I desire to go to a college with team spirit and challenge me both academically and athletically. This is because I know that student athlete starts with the word STUDENT, I need to be a good student before I even begin to be a good athlete. I aspire to make my college, my coaches, and especially my family proud of me.
