At the age of two, my parents put me in swim lessons because my mom was scared of the water and didn't want me to be. My first experience with water did not go well, as I didn't even want my face to get wet. But over time, I began to enjoy being in the water. By the age of five, I was ready to start my journey in the world of competitive swimming. At first, my mom wasn't sure that this was the right decision, but as we were leaving the pool after I made the team, brimming with confidence and a little snarkiness, I turned to her and asked, "You didn't think I could do it, did you?" That determination and perseverance are two of the character traits that have fueled my passion for swimming.
While swimming is at the forefront of my mind, it shares space with my education. I believe that a solid education is necessary for me to accomplish all of my goals both swimming and in my future career path. I would like a high quality education that prepares me for my future career, which is in the medical field. With some scholarship assistance, I would like to swim for a strong Division-1 program. I am seeking the opportunity to be an asset to a well-rounded team and to hopefully have the chance to hone some leadership skills, that will one day help with my future career, by acting as a team captain.

Are you in honor classes?
Yes. I completed Honors Math 1 in Eighth Grade. For my freshman year, I took Honors Math 2 and 3, Honors English, and Honors Earth and Environmental Science. I opted not to take a history my freshman year. During sophomore year, I took Honors English, Honors Biology, and Civics Literacy Honors.Are you in AP/IB classes?
Yes. During the summer between my freshman and sophomore years, I took Anatomy and Physiology 1 at the community college in Boone, NC. Starting my sophomore year, I will be taking community college classes as well as AP classes. During sophomore year, I took Pre-Calculus, Art Appreciation, and Music Appreciation through the community college, as well as AP World History.Awards and Activities
