I became interested in swimming during my freshman year of high school. Swimming clears my mind, and it’s my drug of choice. I am a military child, because of this I learned very early how to adapt and overcome. Moving to new locations all my life has taught me how to be outgoing, and resilient. I have been exposed to people from different backgrounds due to my father's military career. When I was in the 3rd grade I was diagnosed with dyslexia. I do not see my dyslexia as a hindrance to my academic ability. I see it as a challenge to myself to do better than what is expected. At my high school I am the commanding officer of the navy junior officers’ training corps (NJROTC) unit, and I am the Vice President of the school's FFA chapter. I am also in academic associations like national honor society (NHS) , and national technical honor society (NTHS). I plan to get my bachelors degree in animal science, and plan to join the Marine Corps after college.
