Personal Statement
My main goals for college swimming are to become a faster swimmer and to be the best person I can possibly be. I love the sport of swimming because I’ve learned that working hard in the pool can lead to achieving personal goals without being dependent on others. I want to compete on a team that supports me by helping me grow as an athlete, a student, and a person. I’m looking for a school with a swim team that has a great sense of community that will push me to improve myself in the pool and the classroom. I will be a positive influence to my college team because I thrive when I am contributing to group successes and sharing responsibility for great achievements.
I am hardworking, disciplined, determined, and enthusiastic. My coaches and teachers have taught me to set goals and work hard to achieve them. I love to rise to a challenge, and I thrive with intense competition. I also believe in supporting and encouraging others, and assisting those in need.
Academically, I have always been a high honors student. I hope to explore courses in pre-med and science. I have been classically educated with a strong focus on logical reasoning, public speaking, and a Christian worldview. I swim on a team that emphasizes respect, leadership, responsibility, and caring. As a result of my education and my family upbringing, I am firmly rooted in the belief that honesty and integrity are cornerstones of solid character.
