Personal Statement
From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to swim in college. So you could say that I have always loved the water. The water is my happy place. If I am not having the best day I can always come to practice and all of my worries will fade away. But my favorite thing is racing. I like when it’s just the clock and I racing, I can see what I am really capable of doing. Over the recent years, I have stepped up into a leadership role on both my high school and club swim teams. If my coach needs someone to count on, they look to me. Like, leading the lane in practice or going last on a relay and knowing if we are behind I will swim with my whole heart to catch up.
I am looking for a college that not only challenges me in the pool and classroom, but also a family that will stick together through hard practices and push each other to be the best version of themselves. I am looking for people that will put their mind to a goal and will work together to accomplish it. I am very interested in pursuing a job in the Sports Medicine field. Also, I want to coach swimming. I want to teach kids the important life lessons swimming has taught me over the years, lessons that have shaped me into the person that I am today. And it wouldn’t hurt if there was a Starbucks nearby.
