Personal Statement
Hello I am Olivia Slivinski and swimming has always been a passion of mine. I began swimming with an organized swim club when I was 6 years-old and haven't looked back. My journey has not been without bumps in the road, however I have taken those obstacles and have learned how to make the best of it. For example, during the second semester of my freshman year, I tore my ACL. I never would have imagined the re-building process I would have to go through. What this taught me was determination and made me want to work even harder to reach the goals I had set for myself. During my recovery, I made it a point to not only rehab, but to be a good teammate. I went to practices when I could not swim and when I was in the water, I worked with my coach to be creative with sets. I have a strong desire to continue my swimming career by participating on a college swim team. I will bring leadership, dedication and hard work. I also know the value of being a good teammate, as well as how important it is to be receptive to coaching criticism. Thank you for your time.
