Mackenzie Carter '23 Recruiting Profile

 My name is Mackenzie Carter and I am a Junior in high school. I swim on a club team called Greater Columbus. Swimming has been a huge part of my life since I was seven. I started competitively swimming when I was eight and have loved it ever since. I want to continue swimming in college and work hard on academics. I am a very hard worker and can do anything I put my mind to. I like spending time with my teammates and trying to push them to be the best they can be. Being able to work hard with my friends and seeing the outcome means a lot to me, even when practices are tough. I believe that hard work beats talent. Having people push you in practice so you work your hardest and get out of your comfort zone is one of the things I consider a key to success. So because of that, I try to work on being versatile so I can give a program the best that I have to offer. 

I would like to go to a school that has a good academic environment that will allow me to pursue a career. Academics are very important to me and I hope to find a college that is a good fit for me, challenging me academically while providing the assistance that will help me be a successful student-athlete. I am open to any schools that will provide me these opportunities and I look forward to talking and meeting with coaches and their team to see if we are the right fit for each other.

• *2022 OCC Capital Championship champion in 50 free, 100 back, 400 free relay and 200 medley relay
  *2021 Senior Meet-qualified for USA Futures in 100 back
  *2021 USA Futures- qualified in 50 free and made finals.        
  *2021 Speedo Sectionals- 50 free 27.10 LCM 21st place at finals, 100 free 59.56  LCM 20th place at finals, 100 back 1:07.13 LCM 32nd place at finals        
  *2021 Ohio High School State qualifier in 50 free and 200 Free Relay
  *2021 Ohio High School Districts (Sophomore year)- 5th place in 50 free (23.90), 10th place in 100 free (53.10), 6th place in 200 free relay (23.62). Qualified for States in 50 free and 200 free relay 
  *2020 Ohio High School Districts (Freshman year)- 9th place in 50 free (23.85), 9th place in 100 free (52.97), 5th place in 200 free relay (23.54). Qualified for States in 50 free and 200 free relay.
  *2020 Ohio High School Sectionals - 3rd place in 100 free, 5th place in 50 free, 2nd place in 200 free relay, and 3rd in 200 medley relay. Qualified for Districts.
  *2020 OCC Cardinal Championship champion in 50 free, 100 free, 200 free relay and runner ups in 200 medley relay
