I have been a competitive swimmer since I was 7 years old. I would be a great asset to a college swim team because I strive to be a better swimmer through hard work inside and outside of the pool. I love to be challenged with strenuous sets and difficult times. When I receive feedback from a race or a set, I work hard to make the changes expected of me. I know that the details of each and every stroke matter and every set I swim in practice will pay off at the next meet. I am a dedicated team player who loves working hard at practice so I can become a better swimmer and help my teammates to improve. Though I am strong in all four strokes, my best events are breaststroke and freestyle. I feel confident I can be put in any race situation and succeed. I am different from the other recruits because of my desire to work hard at practice, in school, and my positive attitude towards life. I am always early to practice so I can help set up and be ready in the water to start on time.
I do very well academically because I love to learn and I am extremely focused. In college, I would like to study psychology. After college, I would like to go to medical school so I can further my degree. From there, I would like to get a job helping children and/or adolescents with their difficulties. I am a great candidate because I went to a Montessori school ever since I was two years old. Montessori has taught me how to be self-motivated and has given me the intrinsic drive to learn.
