I began swimming competitively when I was 7 years old and I fell in love with the sport immediately. I feel I would be a great asset to a college level swim team because I am very passionate about swimming and I am a hard worker in the water and academically. I enjoy difficult workouts that challenge me because I know the feedback I receive will help me to improve in the next practice or the next race. I am always early to practice and I treat every practice as if it is a meet where I implement the details and the feedback the coaches have given me. Every interaction with a coach and every moment spent in the water is an opportunity for me to become better. Having goals in swimming and in my day-to-day life are important to me. I like to push myself to be the best that I can be in and out of the water. Currently, I have a 4.0 GPA and education is very important to me. I love reaching my goals, creating new ones, and helping others to do the same. Swimming has played a major role in my life and I am very grateful to be able to compete in such an amazing sport. I feel I stand out from other recruits because I have a positive outlook on life, I am driven to succeed, and I want to assist my teammates to become successful with their goals.
In college, I would like to study ophthalmology. After medical school, I would like to work with Doctors Without Borders to serve people where I can help make a difference in their lives. I am looking for a college that pushes me to reach my swimming goals and my academic goals.
