Personal Statement
Hello, I'm Shannon Wheeler. I am 15 years old, 5'4" about 115 llbs and a freshman at Coppell High School. I will graduate in 2015. I have been swimming for 4 years now. My first club team was the Dallas Mustangs, it was a great kick off to my swimming carrer, but this year I quit the Dallas Mustangs to join the Texas Riversharks. I swim about 4 hours a day, between high school swimming and club. My favorite events are the 50Y free (25.6), and the 100Y free (56.5). I finald at District 6 AAAAA to move on to regionals where I will be swimming in a couple weeks. I am the only freshman on A relays, and the only freshman to move on the regionals. I am a committed athlete and willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish my goals. I am very open when it comes to colleges. I haven't put too much thought as to where I would like to go. I would love to attend colleges in Colorado, Texas, California or Washington. If I am blessed with the chance to swim on a college team, my biggest goal would be to make an impact on the team. I make strong connections with coaches, and work as hard as I possibly can. They never said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it. Thank you so much!
