   Helen Keller once said optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.

  I have lived by this every day. I became interested in swimming just for the pure joy it gives me.

  I've learned a lot about myself from swimming. I have learned to balance school, fun, and hard work in and out of the pool.

  I enjoy things outside of school and swimming such as reading books, painting, and singing.

  I hope to continue to keep good grades throughout high school and going into college. I want to pursue nursing so I can help those in need, and put my social and academic skills to use.
