I was born to swim. I am a member of USA swimming and have been swimming competitively since 2016 with the McAllen Swim Club. I am ranked as the number one swimmer for my club. As swim captain of the girl's swim team in my high school since 10th grade, I have learned to motivate, lead and coach my swim mates. This past summer I worked as a lifeguard with the city of Mission Parks and Recreation. I also coached 11-year-olds for the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF). Five of my swimmers made it all the way to State where two swimmers took Gold, one swimmer took Silver, and the other two earned Bronze.
I take practice very seriously and am always looking for ways to improve my strokes and get faster. I train with a personal coach for dry land and he focuses on strengthening the muscles that are essential for swimming.
I am willing to practice hard, stay late and give 110% in and out of the pool.
I want to major in Speech-Language pathology as I am looking for a career where I can keep swimming as part of my work.
