My first Winter Juniors is a very big milestone for me. I earned the 200 Breaststroke cut a week before the meet and was not expecting to attend. Additionally, I did bonus swims in the 200 and 400 IM and participated in relays. I believe that my performance was not ideal: however, I did gain insight and experience while racing against the top echelon of my country's youth.

Speedo Junior National Championships

A very sentimental event. I was the youngest person on our team as an incoming freshman, fresh out of thirteen years old, but my teammates involved me and regularly conversed with me. I flew out to Irvine two days after my main slew of championship meets ended, notably the state's Age Group Champs and my region's Sectionals. In California, I participated in relays with the "big kids", watching my teammates pour their hearts into racing and doing the same. I remember my moments with these athletes vividly, as this would be the last Junior Nationals for many on our team before collegiate swimming.

Competed as: 800 Fr Relay (Anchor), 200 IM (Finalist, PB), 100 Fr (Finalist), 400 Medley Relay (Anchor), 200 Fr (Finalist, PB), 400 IM (Finalist, PB), 400 Fr Relay (Leadoff), 400 Fr (Finalist, PB), 200 Fr Relay (Anchor), 200 Br (Finalist, PB), 50 Free, and 200 Medley Relay (Anchor). I competed alongside friends, cheered for my team, and had fun both in and out of the pool, earning my first Futures cuts in the 200 IM and the 100 Freestyle.

I swam the 200 Fr, 200 Br, 100 Fr, 400 IM, 400 Free Relay (Top 3), 200 IM, 50 Free (Finalist), and 200 Meter Free Relay (Top 3). As a freshly turned thirteen-year old, I was the youngest 13-14 girl on the South Texas Team, and had competed at the state championship a few days before. It was a great experience, and my first ever out-of-state swim meet.
