Aloha
My name is Kaitlyn Jiuliano. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and I started swimming at the age of 3, with my twin sister, Jordan. I started competitive swimming at the age of 10 with Punahou Aquatics Club (PAQ) in Honolulu, Hawaii. In July of 2021, my family and I moved to Southlake, Texas. I also continued club swimming with the North Texas Nadadores (NTN) in 2021-2022 and currently swim with Lakeside Aquatics Club (LAC) from 2022-current. I am a junior at Southlake Carroll Senior High School and it is my 3rd year on the High School varsity swim team. My favorite strokes are backstroke and freestyle. I enjoy swimming the 100 and 200 backstroke as well as 200 freestyle and 200 IM relays. In 2023, I qualified in the 100 breaststroke for the Texas UIL 6A District swim team. My goal in high school swimming is to qualify for the Texas UIL Regional meet next year.
Furthermore, it is my 3rd year on the Southlake Carroll High School variety water polo team. My position is an attacker. In 2022 and 2023, our team qualified for the State Championship. In 2022, we placed third in state and in 2023, we placed second in state.
Swimming has supported me in all aspects of life, allowing me an outlet to de-stress and overcome many challenges. The sport has helped my conditioning and time management skills. Academics is a priority, as I am enrolled in advanced and AP courses and am a member of the National Honor Society. My favorite class is AP Pre-Calculus because I enjoy working with numbers and solving problems. I aspire to pursue a career in healthcare or practice of medicine, as many of my volunteer hours are in the healthcare field. In the summer of 2023, I volunteered at Texas Healthy Presbyterian Hospital Allen and I am currently volunteering at Three Oaks Hospice in Hurst, Texas.
In addition to swimming and waterpolo, I enjoy many water activities and sports, such as surfing, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and open-water swimming. In Texas, I became a certified lifeguard through the American Red Cross where I learned CPR, First Aid, and AED certification. Also, I worked at my community pool for the past two years in the summer.
Outside of swimming, I love to travel and listen to Korean music (K-pop) and watch Korean dramas. I am currently learning the Korean language and I hope to travel to Korea someday. I especially love Korean food (bulgogi bibimbap and Korean corn dogs). I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family and our two Australian Shepherds named Hoku and Kona.
I am determined to continue swimming at the college level if given the opportunity. I am searching for a strong academic program and coaching staff who will help refine my training to become a stronger swimmer, teammate, and overall person.
