My swimming career has been the focus of my life since I was around 5 years old. I spent every day at the local YMCA watching my older sister swim and eventually she encouraged me to join as well. I used to take swimming lightly and balance practices with many other sports like basketball, gymnastics, and track, but eventually I made the decision to focus on swimming and it was one of the most rewarding decisions I have made in my life.
One of the biggest learning experiences I have had was during Futures of 2019. I placed 6th in the 400 IM and it was one of the highlights of my swimming career thus far, but during that meet I also faced many challenges and learned how big of a role your mindset affects your racing and how having an overall positive outlook on every situation you are given can help result in the best possible outcome.
I am looking for a college that has a program that is going to challenge me physically, mentally, and academically. My motivation, dedication, and overall positive mindset has the potential to make a positive impact on any program.
