I first discovered tennis as a freshman where I primarily picked up the hardships and lifelong friendships of what the wonderful sport of tennis withholds. Although I played multiple sports in my freshman year, tennis was the only one I had felt a real connection with and stuck to. One solid factor of sports I have taken to the highest importance is the physical health lifestyle that I have gained greatly from.
My favorite aspect of tennis is the fact it is both a team and an individual sport; challenging me to not only become a better leader and team player but to figure out my own struggles and grow from them. My main struggle is my extreme perfectionism that leads to many frustrations but also helps me push myself. I love to work with new people and learn a variety of new things each time I play. Although, not only do I have a passion for tennis but also am greatly driven to keep my life balanced with my studies. During high school, I managed to keep a 3.2-3.6 GPA while engaging with my varsity tennis team on the season, and club team off-season.
I am very fortunate to have been able to be a part of a great community that introduced me to the competitive lifestyle of tennis that I look up to. I believe my best aspect is the willpower I have to stay focused on my goals and consistent in my efforts no matter the frustrations. Therefore I know what it takes to play at the college level.
